Tenant Property Protection Protecting your property is YOUR responsibility. Access Storage does not insure your belongings and is not responsible for loss or damage to your property and strongly recommends that you as the renter provide protection against loss for your property. If you are unsure whether or not your homeowners or renter’s policy covers your stored items, we recommend contacting your insurance agent. Pest Control As a renter, you are responsible for pest control in your units. Access Storage does provide pest control in the common areas of the facility. DO NOT STORE FOOD. Food attracts pests. Any and all food items are NOT ALLOWED to be stored in the unit including packaged, sealed military kits, etc. • SET MOUSE TRAPS & USE BUG SPRAYS in unit. • USE PEST DETERRANTS including cotton balls soaked in peppermint oil or lavendar or place cedar blocks in units as they act as a natural pest detterants. • FURNITURE. Please be sure to clean & vaccum your items prior to storing. Crumbs & other food particles attract • rodents & insects. Also be sure to wrap plastic around upholstered furniture and other soft items including pillows and curtains that don’t fit in plastic bins. • APPLIANCES. Be sure to clean your stove, microwave, • dishwasher, etc. to remove any chance of food particles • being on your items while storing. • USE PLASTIC BINS INSTEAD OF CARDBOARD BOXES. Prevent Mold/Midlew Mold is a type of fungus that thrives on moisture and reproduces by a means of tiny, lightweight spores. It can be found on walls, floors, appliances, furniture, carpet, and other items that provide the “food” mold needs to grow. Please understand that standard home owners insurance and Tenant Property Protection Plans DO NOT cover the cost of all damages from mold and mildew.
